Safety
Armour Thyroid is made from porcine thyroid glands. Only USDA inspected and approved grain-fed pigs are used.
Quality Control
The amount of thyroid hormone in the thyroid gland may vary from animal to animal. To ensure that Armour Thyroid tablets are the same from tablet to tablet and lot to lot, the amount of T4 and T3 is measured in both the raw material and in the actual tablets.
Side Effects
Since Armour Thyroid is made to replace thyroid hormones, the most common side effects generally mimic an underactive or overactive thyroid (hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, respectively). Adverse reactions other than those indicative of hyperthyroidism, either initially or during the maintenance phase, are rare.
If you experience chest pain, increased pulse rate, palpitations, excessive sweating, heat intolerance, or nervousness, please consult your doctor immediately; your dose may need to be adjusted.
