Armour Thyroid Is Natural Combination Thyroid Hormone
Replacement Therapy

Armour Thyroid is a natural, porcine-derived thyroid replacement containing both T4 and T3. Armour Thyroid Tablets, USP, contain the labeled amounts of levothyroxine and liothyronine, as established by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). The ratio of Armour Thyroid T4 to T3 is 4.22:1.

The Armour Thyroid product available from Forest Pharmaceuticals contains:
1. Thyroid Powder, USP
2. Dextrose, Anhydrous
3. Microcrystalline Cellulose, NF
4. Sodium Starch Glycolate, NF
5. Calcium Stearate, NF
6. Opadry White (titanium dioxide used as a whitening agent)

Armour Thyroid does not contain gluten or lactose.

Armour Thyroid tablets Are Available in 8 Strengths

Armour Thyroid tablets are evenly colored, light tan, round tablets, with convex surfaces. One side is debossed with a mortar and pestle beneath the letter “A” on the top and strength code letters on the bottom as defined below:

Switching to Armour Thyroid is Simple

When converting thyroid doses, consider that 100 mcg of T4 is roughly equivalent to 25 mcg of T3, or 1 grain (60 mg) of Armour Thyroid or liotrix-1.a

Thyroid hormones should not be used for the treatment of obesity. An abnormal increase in thyroid hormone can result in hyperthyroidism. Increased heart rate, heart palpitations, and hair loss are just a few of the potential effects of hyperthyroidism.
